Honda of Chantilly Offers Tips to Keep the Summer Fun Flowing

Summer is finally here, which means a season full of grilling, swimming, and fun in the sun with friends! While this is certainly a great time of year to take it easy and enjoy some carefree relaxation, it’s also important to be aware of the risks that come with the season.

Don’t fret, though; Honda of Chantilly is here to help raise your awareness so that you can kick back and relax without a worry at the world!

Finger Lickin’ Good

Whether you’re firing up the grill or making s’mores around the fire, chances are that some of your favorite summer nights are spent chowing down with family and friends. Of course, cooking outdoors is a bit less convenient than when you’ve got a full kitchen at your disposal.

Campfire food

When preparing food outside, particular meat, be sure to cook it thoroughly. It’s also important to refrigerate unused portions within an hour or two after cooking them so that they don’t spoil. If you’re camping, be sure to store all food in a hard to reach place some distance from your campsite, as not to attract bears or other animals.

Floating Away

Summer is also prime time for taking a dip, whether it’s at the beach or in the pool. The #1 rule is to make sure not to swim alone, and it goes double for children. Be sure to wear a life preserver when boating, too.

Soak Up the Sun

Of course, summer isn’t complete without some sun. Using sunblock appropriately is the best way to prevent sunburn; we recommend SPF 15 or higher, applied regularly throughout the day. A hat is always a good idea, too, as is a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes!

Hit the Road

If you’re traveling during the summer months, it’s a good idea to have your car checked out before any long trips. In addition to making sure your car is up to the road ahead, having your engine coolant and air conditioning systems checked is in your best interest in the summer heat!

Whatever you’re up to this season, have fun and stay safe! To learn more about how Honda of Chantilly can help you have a great summer, be sure to contact us online or to call our team at (703) 633-2400 today!

New Traditions Bring The Holidays To Life

At our Honda dealership, our team comes from many different walks of life. As a result, we have many different traditions for the holiday season!

No matter what you’re celebrating or whom you’re with, starting some new traditions is a great way to solidify the holiday spirit with your friends or family. Check out some of our favorite, and hop to it!

Spice Up Your Home

Decorating together is a great way to set the mood for the season. Whether you’re decorating the tree, setting up a model railroad or village, or hanging lights outside, getting together to decorate is a great way to start the season off on the right foot.

Seasonal Snacks

The kitchen is another great place to get everyone together. Whether you’re sharing a meal or cooking together, nothing brings people together like food!

Christmas and holiday cookies

Some good suggestions for the season include baking cookies, mulling cider, or building gingerbread houses.

Take In The Sights

The holidays create plenty of opportunities for seeing something exciting. Many towns host holiday themed plays, or show classic holiday movies for locals to attend.

Another classic option is to get everyone bundled up, climb in the car, and drive around town checking out the lights and decorations. Be sure to note which streets and houses have the brightest lights so you can come back next year!

Outdoor winter fun

Head Outdoors

Getting out to enjoy the cold weather is the perfect way to make sure no one gets cabin fever. Little ones, in particular, are sure to love a day spent building a snowman or sledding. Breaking out the ice skates is a great way to pass some time, too. Whatever you do, just be sure to get everyone warmed up with some hot cocoa afterwards.

No matter what traditions you’re embracing this year, be sure to share them with the people you care about. From Honda of Chantilly to you and yours, have a great holiday season!
