Of course, restoring an old rust bucket back to its former glory is another process entirely, and it’s a process that takes a great amount of knowledge, hard work, and uncompromising dedication. Fortunately, those are all qualities found in Tim Mings, who works full time restoring some of Honda’s oldest vehicles!
When Mings acquired two 1967 Honda N600s, the seller didn’t know exactly what they had—and neither did Mings, at the time. At a glance, you could only tell that they were two of Honda’s original cars. After working on one of them for two or three years, though, Mings scraped away some grime to find that he had something truly special: a 1967 Honda N600 with VIN 1000001.
The restoration process was excruciatingly long and strenuous, but the dedication of Mings and his team effectively led to the preservation of a huge component not only of Honda’s history, but of automotive history in the United States as a whole.
Honda chronicled the process with a web series, culminating in Serial One’s reveal at the Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach, California. Of course, calling this 1967 N600 a “classic” feels like a bit of an understatement when you get a look at it in its fully restored glory!

Drivers who seek out economy cars are certainly looking to get more bang for their buck, so it’s important to get an accurate idea of what you can expect from a car before making a purchase. With the right choice, drivers can find an affordable option that they’re sure to love.
Edmunds.com is a premier online destination for car shoppers looking to do some research, and their team recently took a user poll to see which economy vehicle are thrilling drivers the most. As it turns out, DC Honda shoppers who have fallen for the 2013 Honda Fit are far from alone; out of the 16 vehicles that ranked, the spry subcompact from Honda placed in the top two.
Praising the 2013 Fit as “incredibly versatile and space-efficient,” Edmunds.com had plenty of good things to say about its design. The staff went on to point out that while many new subcompact options have arrived on the street in recent year, the Honda Fit “remains the hands-down utility champ.”
With words like “well-rounded” and “fun-to-drive” being tossed around with the 2013 Fit on Edmunds.com’s list of Best Economy Cars, it’s easy to see that drivers love this subcompact. A quick look around the vehicle makes it just as easy to see why.
The 2013 Honda Fit is a natural fit for DC drivers. With its efficient powertrain and subcompact design, this versatile vehicle is well-equipped for life in the city.
A 1.5L i-VTEC four-cylinder engine offers drivers the efficiency they’re after, with EPA estimates as high as 33 highway miles to the gallon.* Even better, the Drive-By-Wire throttle system and 106 lb.-ft. of torque at a low RPM result in a responsive, spirited ride given the engine’s relatively small size.
The 2013 Fit’s subcompact design also makes it easy to navigate the often cramped seats of a metropolitan area, while Honda satellite-linked navigation with voice recognition makes it easy to find your way through twists and turns. Maximized visibility as a result of a thin A pillar and additional triangular mini-windows also help you to stay in command or your surroundings.
With impressive fuel economy and a thoughtfully design interior, the 2013 Fit is a dream come true for city drivers. For more information on this consumer favorite economy subcompact, be sure to call Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg directly at (540) 735-9100 or to visit us online today!
